The University of Michigan Contemporary Directions Ensemble, directed by Jayce Ogren, presents a concert titled “Zappa and Dead Elvis” on February 3. Music inspired by rock and roll by David Lang, Jimmy Lopez Bellido, and Frank Zappa is featured, along with UM composer Michael Daugherty’s “Dead Elvis” for bassoon and ensemble with Jeffrey Lyman as soloist.
